Judas

Synopsis

Just before Easter, in the square in front of the Tower of Antonia in Jerusalem, a festive crowd of people, led by the apostles, are cheering Jesus of Nazareth, proclaiming him to be the ‘King of the Jews’.

All of a sudden the triumphant procession is brusquely disbanded by a number of Roman legionaries who have been instructed to restore order to the area. One of the apostles steps in front of Jesus to protect him, telling the people around him not to fear the Romans and to defend the Messiah at all costs. The apostle is Judah.

However Judah is the victim of a great illusion. He is convinced that Christ’s mission is to free the people of Israel from the Roman oppressor.
